3rd Annual Stop, Drop & Run 5k

Help us support Lewes’ Bravest…the volunteer firefighters who give you their best on your worst day. For 200 years the men and women of this department have run in when others run out. Now it is your turn to run and help us provide services for the Lewes Fire Department and our community.

Race Time

7:30am- Registration opens
8:15am- Kiddie K (free for kids 8 & under)
8:30am- Race start

Packet pickup and late registration – will be on Saturday, June 10th from 4pm-6pm at the On the Rocks Bar at the Cape May Lewes Ferry terminal. Drink specials for those age 21 and older: $4 Miller Light Draft, $5 House Wines, $5 Apple Martinis and Cruzan Rum mixed drinks.

Entry Info

Entry fee- $25 pre-registration (until the Thursday before the race at Noon) / $30 after and day of event

$5 guest fee for adults and children over 10 for the post race party

Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase a life saving ventilation tool for Lewes’ new fire engine in memory of Lewes Volunteer Firefighter, Tim McClanahan who died tragically last year.

Fast & flat residential route starting and finishing at the Lewes Fire Station.

NOTICE: You may WALK with strollers. No dogs allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable. Please reference our policies page for more details.

Amenities

-Tee shirts until they run out (first 125 to sign up by May 29 will receive a super soft tri-blend tee!)
-Post race party with Mich Ultra for those age 21 & older & food will be provided from Savannah Grille, Surf Bagel, Pat’s Pizza , Lloyds Market and Wawa.
-Face painting
-Tour the fire station
-Have your picture taken on the fire trucks
-Fire prevention activities for kids and families
-Sparky will lead the way for our Kiddie K!

-Awards to overall male/female
-Awards for top male/female masters
-Awards to top 3 male/female in 10 year age groups 13 & under through 70 & over

-Lewes Fire Auxilary Cup and happy hour gift certificate for the largest team
-Happy hour for fastest team. You must have at least 5 team members and at least 1 female to score. The top 3 places, including at least 1 female, on each team will be combined for the team score. (team awards for pre registered only). Bethany Blues, Lewes has generously offered each team member a drink and an appetizer (like their awesome nachos, pigs on the wing, steamer specials, wings or BBQ sliders).

Firefighter challenge– teams must consist of at least 4 firefighters wearing turnout gear (running shoes permitted— we’re not crazy!) for more details – HERE. Teams must pre-register.
